bmw x6 2011 review

Car Review 2011 BMW X6 – Crossover vehicles are perhaps the fastest growing segment of the automotive market. Typically, this marries a SUV body to a car-based platform. What if the reverse were true? Welcome to the new 2011 BMW X6.
The 2011 BMW X6 is officially labeled as a Sport Activity Coupe, a pretty sleek 4-door coupe at that. It sits atop a modified X5 platform and is lower, wider and longer than the X5. Now BMW will likely give me grief for referring to the X5 as a SUV platform and it really is not in the truest sense of the term, but its as close as you are likely to get from this manufacturer.
An aggressively portioned front end flows back towards a chopped roofline and back over a sharply angled fastback rear window. The rear section is a delightful visual element not seen in this class of vehicle. BMW is taking a bold departure from the status quo, but its unique vision of automotive design clearly differentiates it from many other luxury manufacturers reluctant to boldly go where no car has gone before.
In North America the new BMW X6 will be offered with two power plants: a 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine producing 300 hp and a 4.4L V8, also twin-turbo charged, that cranks out a heady 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque. European buyers will likely choose between the two diesel options available to them.
My tester was the x-Drive35i. It comes with BMW’s fabulous x-Drive system standard – it shuttles torque between the front and rear axles as traction permits. A secondary system is then able to split the torque between the left and right rear wheels. It not only alters the torque distribution on acceleration, it also looks after the vehicle when it decelerates – as such it becomes the first line of stability control.

Huge front air intakes make an impression but we know you’re focusing on that carbon-fiber hood. Mansorysays its ventilation channels optimize air flow to the engine. Matching bits of carbon-fiber can be found on the sides and the rear of the car, where a roof and extremely tasteful rear lip spoiler supposedly give the Mansory X6 M more stability at high speeds, but we’re guessing most of these cars will spend more time in valet parking than at over 100 mph.The upgrades performed on the X6 M are similar to Mansory’s X5 M, but the X6’s standard bodystyle combined with added eye-catching bits push this SUV over the top.We aren’t fans of the too-large 23-inch light alloy wheels, but it’s hard to argue with larger brakes and a multi-piston brake system or the fatter tires. A new exhaust system and revised engine electronics are responsible for the horsepower boost to a claimed 670. Top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph.The Mansory X6 M is wider too. Inside, a new steering wheel helps customers make the most of the retuned suspension. As Mansory explains, the rest of the interior is an open canvas: the company will be happy to customize an interior with combinations of leather, Alcantara, wood, carbon, or aluminum trim — just bring your checkbook

bmw x6 2011 black

The new bmw x6 2011 black is based very closely on the popular X6 Concept, which was being able on a car market in 2008. Now, the model X6 is redesigned model from famous model from near past – 2009 BMW model, called “Sport Activity Coupe”. Along with the crazy exterior, you can be glad of the all-new twin-turbo V8, with comes with the new model of the concept in next 2011 year.
The automakers from BMW are the first people that bring such a SUV on a market; the leadership is on their side. The other manufacturers said that they planning to put on the market, the models of their vehicle with similar coupe-like concept.
If we make a compare with the classic concept, we will see a very little changes. In fact there is no time to noticing the changes at all. The only most visible differences are the windows, which are tweak. For compare on the concept, the B- and C-pillars are not visible. But on the car, which is designed for to the next year, they clearly divide up the glass.

BMW Adds Three-Seat Rear Bench Option for the X6 and New Equipment Goodies for X5

Starting from April 2011, BMW X6 customers will be able to specify the crossover model with a three-seat rear bench. Up until now, the X6 was offered exclusively with a four-seat layout. The extra accommodation is available for all X6 models with the exception of the X6 ActiveHybrid, and can also be ordered for the X6 M. Besides the third seat that replaces the previous storage unit between the two rear passengers, the five-seat model also gets new leather options.

BMW also announced that the new batch of X6 models will feature shift paddles on the steering wheel whose operating logic follows the principle familiar from the M cars: for manual shifting of the eight-speed Sport automatic transmission, the right paddle is used for upshifts and the left for downshifts.

Furthermore, both the BMW X5 and X6 can be ordered with new Y-spoke design 20-inch alloy wheels shod in 275/40 and 315/35 front and rear tires respectively, plus a Comfort Access system that illuminates the car’s surroundings, and an updated range of ConnectedDrive services. The latter includes the BMW Apps option, which means that iPhone users will be able to access Facebook, Twitter and international radio stations, regardless of the car’s location.
